 We decorated for our favorite holiday.  Jordan and Maddie sorted through various costume pieces and tried different creepy combinations.

After visiting the exhibits at the Harvest Festival, we decided to explore the wooded area on the property and found this.  I gave us a laught, but I wonder who would think of ice skating on this piece of land?  The nearest body of water is a very small pond with vegetation growing up through most of it and it's several yards beyond this sign.  Hmmm . . .

A new pasta recipe.

This not only smelled delicious, it tasted just as good.  Pasta and peas tossed with a mixture of creme friache, garlic, chives, and parmesean.  Yummy!

This is what you get with a new camera on a tripod set with a 13 second shutter speed and one daughter on roller skates, the other on a bicycle.  Kinda fun . . .

Maddie and Jordan's friend, Kern, have had this game of tag going since Jordan's birthday party.  She wrote him a note, he wrote one back, she texted him, he tagged her in the car when she wasn't looking, she posted this sign in his yard while he was napping . . . Kern, you're it!

1930's Style.

Ready to present a 1930's Hamlet to drama class.

Strawberry thief.

Not only do the squirrels get into our garden and steal the strawberries, but they also climb onto the ledge of the kitchen window so we can watch them eat the berries.

My first non-halloween garment

in many years.  Jordan is re-working Hamlet and setting the play during the 30's.  When she presents to her drama class she will wear this dress - a pattern matched to the 1930's style, made from reproduction feed sack cloth.  Very similar to the dresses made and worn by women and girls during that time.

Helping with a CAS goal.

Aditi set a CAS (Community and Service) goal to make a skirt.  I showed her how to make a simple elastic waistband skirt.  She did a great job and did it very quickly.

I'm sure these are dogwoods - they are so beautiful.  I love how the petals are laying so flat on this flower.  Maddie insisted we go to the mall (to Build-a-Bear) while Aili and Jordan were at driver's ed.

A Very Merry UnBirthday.

One of the many fun scenes from Jordan's birthday party -  20 kids and 900 sparklers.  They also played croquet, ladder ball, and just dance on the wii.  They also colored in Alice in Wonderland colorbooks and played with bubbles and play dough.  Great kids!!
