Strawberry Pickin'

We picked about 25 lbs. of berries this morning.  They are the most delicious strawberries I've ever tasted!!

Washington Monument. 239/365

We had reserved tickets to go to the top of the monument at 10:00 a.m. At 500 feet in the air we could see all of the city. We should have done this yesterday and saved a lot of walking!

Abraham Lincoln. 238/365

We spent a very hot and humid day in Washington D.C. We saw the highlights of the Arlington Cemetery. CNN and Fox News are already posted at the entrance in anticipation of Ted Kennedy's burial and all the flags are flying at half mast. Then we took the looooong walk across the Lincoln Memorial Bridge to see the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean Veterans War Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Maddie's favorite part of the day was riding on the Metro and Jordan's was seeing the Lincoln Memorial and reading the Gettysburg Address written there.
